Past & Present

Robert Truesdale was born in Charlotte, NC and his Mother, Sarah Bruce, moved the family to Washington DC in the mid 1960’s.  He attended Charles R. Drew Elementary, Daniel C. Roper Junior High School and Graduated from H.D. Woodson Senior High School, the class of “79” in Washington D.C. He attended Lincoln Technical Institute “Automotive Technology” graduating in 1981.

Robert came to Christ at Grace Temple in Washington DC at the age of 12. Bishop, Charles R. Hayes, was preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ when God the Holy Spirit drew Robert to Christ and he was Born Again! Robert preached his first message at Grace Temple later that year. He believes God called him to preach the Gospel from then until today.

Robert was led by God, the Holy Spirit, to reach out to the disenchanted, disillusioned, and homeless. Robert’s ministry today includes feeding the homeless of Washington DC and evangelizing those in need of Christ.  Robert believes Christ came to set the captives free! He ministers to some that are literally in prison while others walk amongst us appearing to be free and yet may be imprisoned within.

Robert believes all that Jesus Christ proclaims, that Jesus alone is The Way, The Truth and The Life and Jesus alone can make you Free. Robert is committed to reaching others with the life transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Because of his genuineness he has affectionately become known in Washington as “The Preacher in The Hooddoing what’s good!
